James Beckett will assist the UK-based Masters Historic Racing Series. A former assistant club secretary of the BRDC, it was during this time that James created the Walter Hayes Trophy for FF1600 cars, co-coordinated Silverstone’s International Historic Festival and ran historic races for a variety of classics. November 2010 – The Walter Hayes Trophy
The world’s largest Formula Ford event held annually at Silverstone began in honor of the passing of the former English journalist and Ford executive in 2000. Albemarle will have associations with cars and drivers running in the competition – notably the Sheson Racing team operating high-profile entries for three-time event, Joey Foster, TV star, Neil Cunningham and James Wood. July 2010 – Cunningham Thrills Crowds Ahead of Visit To Albemarle
James Bond stunt driver, Neil Cunningham, has been thrilling the European historic motor racing crowds recently with awesome performances in a variety of mouth-watering racing machines. Due to make a trip to Albemarle’s circuit site shortly, along with Albemarle Motor Sport Event Director, James Beckett, Neil wrestled a Shelby FT350 Mustang in some style at the recent Silverstone Classic, and the UK-based New Zealander is now looking forward to driving at the famous Goodwood Revival in September.
Neil says, “I am very excited about the whole Albemarle project and look forward to being able to entertain many of the Albemarle clients and fans with lessons in performance driving. Special ‘red letter’ days are hugely popular in the UK, and to be able to school a large number of people in high-performance cars at the nostalgic Albemarle facility will be very exciting for everyone.”
May 2010 – New Appointment – Top Tier CPA Takes Financial Wheel
Joining Albemarle is William M. Wright II, CPA, who will serve as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Wright brings a 25-year career in private industry and pubic accounting, with significant experience in start-ups. As its V.P. and Chief Financial Officer, he will be involved in planning, capital acquisition, and oversight of the financial management to ensure the company meets its overall operating/financial goals and objectives. He holds an MBA degree from Regent University and a BS in Financial Accounting from the University of New Haven and is a licensed CPA in Virginia.

The Albemarle branding has appeared in association with numerous UK and European-based drivers. The Albemarle crest has been seen in the British F3 International Series at Silverstone, Donington Park, Spa-Franchorchamps and Oulton Park. In addition, the Albemarle brand has been associated with drivers and cars at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival, Silverstone Classic, Champion of Brands, Formula Ford Festival at Brands, and the Walter Hayes Trophy.
November 2009 – Formula 3 Racer Shows Support for Albemarle
19-year-old Spanish Formula 3 racer, Victor Garcia has been racing around the tracks of Europe carrying the brand of Albemarle. Competing in the prestigious Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series – just two steps away from Formula 1 Grand Prix – Victor has been enjoying a rewarding point-scoring season, his first away from driving in his native Spain.
The Madrid-based driver has received coaching this season from Le Mans 24-Hour race winner, and Ferrari F1 test driver, Marc Gene, and recently finished third in the round of the F3 series at the legendary Spa-Franchorchamps circuit in Belgium. Victor says “My focus is very much on reaching Formula 1. My aim is to race in the Grand Prix supporting GP2 Series in 2010 and then make the jump to F1 either in 2011 or the year after.”

Former Asst Secretary of British Racing Drivers Club (BDRC), James E. Beckett, 40, joins Albemarle with a wealth of experience, knowledge and associations. The creator of the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone for Formula Ford open-wheel cars is the world’s largest annual event for these formula cars. Mr. Beckett plans to deliver a world-class motor sport experience for the professional, hobbyist and enthusiast.
October 2008 – New Appointment – Equestrian Director To Take The Reins At Albemarle
Accomplished equestrian figure Mrs. Diane Monroe of Virginia Beach will join Albemarle as Equestrian Director. A life-long equestrian competitor and champion, Mrs. Monroe has achieved national ranking amongst the nation’s most accomplished competitors, competing in premier events such as The National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden and the Meadowlands as well as The Washington International, The Pennsylvania National and the Devon Horse Show near Philadelphia.

August 2008 – Albemarle Moves Forward On Several Chesapeake Sites
The Albemarle development company has approved a number of sites in southern Chesapeake, and is moving forward on plans to break ground Spring of 2009. Each of the potential sites is convenient to other Chesapeake leisure, cultural, and historic attractions and provides easy access just minutes from central Chesapeake’s I-64 on Rt. 17 South. City officials, including the Chesapeake’s leadership and council members have been given the opportunity to review the development’s project and site plan and are enthusiastic about the facility.
July 2008 – Special Guests of English Sporting Events
On invitation from the former Secretary of the British Racing Drivers Club Rear Admiral Roger Lane-Nott the principles of Albemarle development company traversed the Atlantic this past July to attend legendary sporting events north of London England. Lane-Nott is a long-time supporter of the Albemarle Estate and has accepted the venue’s leading position as Club Director.
